ICF systems are based on hollow panels which lock together to provide a permanent formwork into which concrete is poured. Once cured the panels stay in place to form a high-strength structure with a wide range of environmental benefits – not least Passivhaus levels of insulation and airtightness.
This new CPD from Nudura provides a step-by-step guide to the construction process from product selection, design, installation, all the way through to the choice of interior and exterior finishes available. The versatility of the system is demonstrated through examples of Nudura built projects including a residential home with curved walls and refurbishment and extension to a secondary school building.
The CPD concludes by addressing how to avoid common problems with detailing, compatibility and interfaces, plus compliance with British Standards and Codes of Practice.
