From foundation to ICF Superstructure in 12 weeks
The Gorey Nursing Home project in Conattin, Wexford is a fantastic example of how modern construction techniques can meet rising need for excellent nursing homes and sheltered accommodation. The 125-room nursing home, designed by Reddy Architecture + Urbanism is a 3-storey building covering 5,985 sqm built in Amvic ICF. Axis Construction are the main contractor on this nursing home project with the ICF work undertaken by Amvic’s approved installer Daly Construction.
The builders estimated that the Amvic ICF system allowed them to complete installation 60% faster than traditional blockwork. This remarkable speed was achieved by eliminating wet trades, typically a source of delays in masonry construction, minimising snagging, and ensuring no downtime due to weather. Additionally, the ICF system provided financial flexibility, with no upfront payments required for materials usually seen with timber frame projects.
