Client Support offered by Econekt

While we like to offer our clients seminar training for ICF, we have also begun to offer a new service here at Econekt. We can now provide our clients with our ‘Supply and Assist’ service which aims to bridge the gap between classroom or seminar training and hiring a contractor to complete your self-build project.

With this service, we like to look at it as a much more intimate means of training the true self-builder. Think of it as an extremely hands-on training session, over several days, provided by one of our highly trained specialists. Not only is the training much more personal, but it also helps to adapt to current covid restrictions in the UK and reduces the requirement for social distancing as much of it is provided outdoors, on-site.

To best describe ‘Supply and Assist’ and how it works, the clue really is in the name. We first supply the Izodom ICF products to our client, and we then assist them in the build of said products on their project. We aim to give a helping hand throughout the whole project, start-to-finish, rather than provide training before, or carry out all the work for the client.

We like to provide our ‘Supply and Assist’ service at three stages of the build with each spanning a number of days.

First Stage

  • Offload all ICF elements and organise by type.
  • Set out build structure from four corners.
  • Plans for build checked and signed off.
  • ICF bracing systems provided and set-up advice given.

Considerations

Ensure client understands the following:

  • Corner construction
  • Internal and external wall meetings
  • Opening formation
  • Sil and lintel at correct height
  • Bracing system set-up

Second Stage

  • Ensure all bracing systems are secure and fixed before concrete pour.
  • Ensure all corners of structure are built correctly.
  • Check that all door and window spaces are positioned correctly, ready for insertion into shell.
  • Ensure rebar is correctly placed into ICF and secured to allow proper concrete flow.

Considerations

After all key checks are complete, site must be clean, tidy and safe for the concrete pour in the coming days.

Third Stage

  • When the concrete wagon arrives we will carry out a number of tests including a consistency check, and slump test.
  • The client then proceeds with the all-important concrete pour.

Considerations

Everyone on-site must have a full understanding of the concrete pour process and how to do this correctly, and safely.
